We’ve been hearing from people from all over the state who are submitting their stories about how Scott Walker’s policies are affecting them. These are a few of the stories we have received:
Crystal from Oneida County told us that even though she and her husband both have jobs, they still struggle to pay the utility bills and put food on the table for their four kids. Her husband works for a small business, and since Walker’s policies have taken effect, he has had to take a pay cut of $7/hour. He works 6 days a week, and has even donated work to his employer just to keep the business afloat. Crystal says that “this shouldn’t be the way of life in Wisconsin” and that it is “heart breaking” to see what Scott Walker has done to our state.
Willa from Waukesha County thinks that Walker wants “more for the corporations and less for the people of this state”. Willa says that she is an Independent voter, but lately Walker and Kleefisch have gone so far that she can’t support any of their policies.
Joe from Kenosha was a teacher for 36 years. He told us that he “wanted to continue teaching, but Walker drove him out of the profession [he] loves”.
Wisconsinites are fed up with Scott Walker and his policies that hurt working families, and they are working hard every day to recall him. Here are a couple of stories we’ve gotten from folks collecting signatures:
Kristi sent us this story from Central Wisconsin: “Driving from King to De Forest the day before Thanksgiving, I saw individuals and couples in every community through which I drove collecting signatures. One country bar had a giant sign out for folks to come in and sign. It is a truly phenomenal and inspiring sight!”
One signature-gatherer in Milwaukee talked to a man from Menomonee Falls, who had voted Republican for his entire life. He said that “what Walker is doing is unheard of. It just doesn’t make sense and it is not good for our State”, and he signed the recall petition.
