Meet the recall candidates:
The Peoples’ Agenda
Where do the candidates stand on the issues? The big questions to ask as suggested by you, the people of Wisconsin:
Jobs and Economy
Q: On Jobs and Economy: What are your thoughts on Wisconsin’s financial health and what do we
need to do to ensure a healthy economy? And specifically, in today’s business environment, where
large corporations make record profits, yet have engineered the idea that they must be given huge tax
breaks/incentives in order to persuade them to bring jobs to an area, what will you do to bring living
wage jobs to our state while holding corporations accountable for paying their fair share of taxes?
Governance
Q: If you are elected, what, besides restoring collective bargaining rights, will you prioritize in terms of
restoring or undoing programs or policies set in place by the Walker administration?
Q: Assume you are elected, and within the next two years both the Senate and the House are also
controlled by Democrats. In what ways would you govern differently than Walker?
Balancing the Budget
Q: The Wisconsin Constitution demands a balanced budget. How would you see that the budget is
balanced? What programs would you see funded at levels higher than the current budget allows? What
would you cut?
Policy Issues
Education
Q: What is your stand on using publicly funded vouchers for private education?
Redistricting
Q: Do you support state constitutional amendment that would remove redistricting from partisan
legislature and put it hands of broad, non-partisan citizens group?
Judicial Appointments
Q: Do you support a state constitutional amendment to require merit selection of judicial appointees
who would be screened and recommended by non-partisan citizens’ panel?
Other Appointments
Q: How specifically, as governor, would you select appointees?
Citizens United and Political Funding
Q: Do you support U.S. constitutional amendment to prohibit political contributions by corporations and
unions while also subjecting all persons and organizations to limited contributions as set by Congress?
Democracy and Civic Action
Q: The recall movement was made possible by grassroots organizing and local action – entirely the work
of concerned citizens, many of whom are taking part in their government for the first time. What will
you do as governor to keep these people engaged and what can you tell us now that proves you are
more committed to the people than to any other interest groups or political parties?
